  1. This is my 26th book by Gerri Hill I was reluctant to read this book because it is affair between two married woman with kids But, I was wrong judging it without reading This story is so painful from beginning to end Every full time working mom has the problem spending time with family, in this case Jill is working from 8 5 pm but not everyone is this lucky and its also quite common that everyone is quick to blame this is kind of mothers as an irresponsible parent Its story about loneliness, lon [...]

  2. Now this is how you write a novella Hill does an impressive job drawing the reader into the lives of Jill and Carrie and gives them an uber romantic spot for us to watch their relationship develop Getting out of a marriage that is not a good fit is never easy and the author does a good job of showing the ripples that an affair can have in the lives of the immediate family as well as those around them. The Cottage lost a star when the ending turned into a fifties lesbian pulp fiction tale, but I s [...]

  3. So here s the thing I don t have an issue with an author killing off one of the main characters when that death is central to the story itself If the story absolutely needs the character to die to work In most cases, that s when the story is about the characters death, how others deal with it, how their murder is solved, those sorts of things. In this book there was just no reason why Carrie had to die Take out the first chapter, have Jill and Carrie get divorced and live happily ever after in th [...]

  4. Wow This was a really good book Nice, sweet romance I didn t want to put it down, and it was a really quick read The ending was not the greatest in terms of how it ended , but the first chapter hints toward the ending So it was expected The author did a great job of making the horrible ending really sweet though Through the tears welling up, I was smiling even I will definitely be looking for books by this author.

  5. I don t understand why people are giving this book a two I though it was great Although the ending was not what I was expecting, it was a great book Sure, the ending wasn t the your typical happily ever after, but it was a good ending even though it wasn t the typical happily ever after I think the ending portrays that love can live on even though someone s lover has passed.

  6. For writing quality and how well she builds the growing relationship, this book is at least a 4.5 stars However, for she same reasons as many other reviewers gave this book, the rating comes down for the unsatisfying ending.

  7. I knew she was going to die in the end, I just didn t actually think it was going to happen Very sad story And that mother in law, argh She was really something But the book I read actually had 175 pages

  8. 2.999 starsF F romanceDepressing I can t believe this is a Gerri Hill book WTH I had to check the initial publication date to ensure it wasn t published in 1982 This one doesn t even feel like her style at all If you come here for escapism this book isn t the best to take you there There is no happy ending here And I didn t think much of the lead chemistry or sex and I would NEVER normally say that about a Gerri Hill story It s also on the shorter side a bit overpriced, I d say But, dammit I STI [...]

  9. This isn t a typical Gerri Hill book It s well written, like all of her others But the tone is decidedly different I ve recently stopped reading the synopsis on a book if it s an author I usually enjoy I want the book to play out before me with no preconceived notions on my part I have to say that had I read it on this one, I might have avoided it because it deals with one of my least favorite plots Turns out there s even to the story that s not in the synopsis, even that falls under Things I [...]

  10. I liked it, but not as much as Sierra City I thought the author took the easy way often The theme of destiny was too present for my taste. We have two women, who so far have been hetero and married, suddenly fall for one another for well, we don t quite know why they fall in love No unrequited feelings, nope, they re just that lucky to have had their gay epiphany at the same time, same location.I m not sure whether I liked the first chapter On the one hand I didn t get too attached to the charact [...]

  11. This is a very moving story about the development of a love relationship between two married suburban mothers While it tends to be a bit wordy and repetitive, it still treated the lesbian romance as a beautiful and confusing experience The ending, however, was extremely disappointing.

  12. A very nice change to read something else than a HEA I m probably sick but I love that I have cried with this story Really bad parenting model though Jill not talking about falling in love with a woman there lol

  13. It was so easy to zip through this book I could certainly relate to the characters and their experience I hate that it s a sad ending but it was still a good read.

  14. My wife loved this book, but I wasn t so taken by it If you want to be together, be together If you re married, leave, don t cheat.

  15. I hated the end Thank all that s holy I had read her other work before this, otherwise I never would have read another of her stories.

  16. Another one of my favorites Actually made me cry Beautiful story about soul mates and finding the one even if you can t be with them.

  17. Very sweet I really like how both woman were so frank about how they felt and what they thought I only wish that things had ended a little differenty An amazing story.

  18. Moving storyline that didn t grab me at all I was too bothered by the characters lying and cheating to be with each other that continued up to the very end of the book.
