  1. What a great book I m a huge fan of Charles Knight and of museum murals in general The murals at the San Diego Museum of Natural History have always fascinated me They are so full of light and detail Today I bothered to look at who painted them for the first time and almost fell over They are by Bill Stout, an artist I met at Comic Con 2008, one year after I moved to San Diego I remembered talking with Bill for 15 20 minutes everyone else seemed to be ignoring him and bought a few sketchbooks So [...]

  2. wow why didn t i get this when it was released i ve several prints by Stout on my walls as well as several of his sketchbooks even have the trading cards of his art he was in Sacto signing a few months back and i didn t pick this up Stupid the murals are fantastic and even are the rough skethes and descriptions of how and why he painted what he didere is also an explanation of how large scale works are made and why they matterd the publisher Flesk, does great work

  3. For kids of all ages Years ago I drove 4 hours to Cambridge to stare at the giant ground sloth remains there Got back in the car, and went home This book is almost as good Cheaper than his original paintings too 30,000.00 Update No wonder the price This book, these paintings are amazing.

  4. Excellent color reproductions of Stout s recent museum work The artist provides candid notes about the works production Some of the pieces are stunning, while others seem a bit overdone.
