  1. Holly and Lawrence Bella and Sam Olivia and Ross Harry and Rachel One by one the relationships crumble, and Holly finds herself joining a club with Bella, Olivia, and Harry that started out as a joke, but turned out to be a lifeline the Break Up Club Who better to cry to, to laugh with and to meet every Sunday to support each other to stop wallowing and start living life You get to see the progress, and regression, of each character in the club as they figure out, not only how to move on from th [...]

  2. Ok heads up, I started this book this morning and DID NOT PUT IT DOWN UNTIL I FINISHED TheBreakUpClub is actually the best book I have read in A LONG TIME And I am not easily overwhelmed by books, but legit 6% into the book and I knew I was invested for the day Keep in mind I have LIFE DEFINING EXAMS in two weeks, and I still couldn t stop LoreleiMathias has created an absolute winner here There is foreshadowing, there is romance, there is descriptive prose and at no point do you actually feel c [...]

  3. Call all chic lit book lovers Before starting my love for Indie New Adult romance books I read books by Jane Green, Sophie Kinsella or Emily Giffin I would slide this book right in with some of my favs Those authors have wit and books filled with laughs This book is no different The layout was a little different but break ups are universal to understand.Holly friends go through a break up and they find solace in their new friendships So much that they start a club While they tell their stories i [...]

  4. Clever, hilarious, and heartwrenching at times Chock full of relatable characters, it s a very enjoyable read A very honest look at breakups in our late twenties, the time when our relationships get longer and become particularly heartbreaking when they fail Doesn t matter if you got dumped or you were the one making the agonizing decision to move on, it hurts This book revolves around a group of friends who all happen to go through breakups at the same time Some are drawn closer by their shared [...]

  5. Break Up Club is a great, fast paced tale of four friends who form their own support group, to help each other through their various relationship break ups We ve all been there crying into our tubs of ice cream maybe that s how salted caramel came about , sniffing jumpers left behind or is that just me and of course these days, with the wonders of modern technology comes the added complication of Facebook stalking So we rely on our friends to pull us through the misery and anguish The characters [...]

  6. ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review The Break Up Club is a comedy slash self help slash romance book It had some very comical areas in it and also had areas where you wanted to sit back and re evaluate your relationship.Holly breaks up with her long time boyfriend Lawrence and meets up with Olivia, Harry, and Bella who all come to the agreement they need a club to get over the relationship losses they have all had They arrange to meet every Sunday and each week they make up a [...]

  7. try this one it s entertaining Light and serious at the same time, it leaves you with the positive message that we all need to make and cherish our friends for the tough times All of the characters are very believable, even if they aren t always likeable, and you won t guess all the outcomes at least I didn t I haven t read Mathias before I don t think she s been published in the US but I ll definitely look for her again The internet is a wonderful thing Thanks to NETGALLEY for the ARC.

  9. A massive thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins for an advance copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.I read this book in one sitting because it was light, well written and fun This is chick lit at its frothiest and is well paced with excellent dialogue and lovable and realistic characters I definitely recommend this book for anyone who is a fan of women s fiction.

  10. A story full of break ups, boxes of wine, and Ben Jerry s The story is centered around Holly and her friends who form a group called the Break up Club They each try to support one another through their sequential break ups Entertaining, and humor filled, it s a good read I received this ARC from Netgalley for a honest review.

  11. Fearlessly funny, this book was such a pleasure to read I have to give a rare 5 stars A perfect balance between exaggeration for humour and I ve been there real life believability A modern, British Friends with brilliant groansome puns and liberal application of the F word.

  12. Break Up Club by Lorelei Mathias is chick lit Brit style with much laughter and puns , tears, inspiration, and drama.Holly and Lawrence don t have the perfect relationship, in fact, far from it But he makes her laugh and that must count for something, right Forget the fact that because of him, her bank account s now at an all time low or that he doesn t really listen to her when she s trying to run ideas by him for a project they could conceivably work on together or that sex is a vague memory, [...]

  13. I m disappointed by how much this book disappointed me The premise is spot on, and the reading was somewhat enjoyable, but in the end, it s just not for me For one thing, I couldn t connect with the characters All the members of the Break Up Club seemed incredibly immature for their age Most of the book consisted of them getting hammered, taking drugs, and being all around silly not exactly what I d expect from a group of mostly professional people in their late twenties Their interactions with [...]

  14. It was hard for me to finish this book I wanted to quit so many times But in order to give an honest review, I had to make it to the end I should have quit The ending was just dumb So was the beginning and middle All the characters were immature for their age They acted like college students The main character, Holly was unlikable She was either drunk, hungover or screwing up at her job And what kind of person ends a 5 year relationship over skype I thought Ms Mathias tried too hard with the on [...]

  15. Break Up Club is a witty book that tells the tale of four friends as they attempt to recover from broken relationships Their cringe worthy self sabotaging actions make for an enjoyable read Its the perfect book for anyone going through a break up themselves as it is certain to make you feel better about how you are handling things I thought the end of the book last 15% or so was a bit strange, but that didn t take away from my overall enjoyment.I received this book free from NetGalley in exchang [...]

  16. Somehow I don t feel I represent the core demographic this book was aimed at Felt like telling them all to get their acts together, tidy up and eat properly Oh and stop drinking constantly No wonder they were constantly obsessing over spots Recommend reading this if you are under 30
