  1. An enjoyable tale with older MC s This story encompasses grief, friends to lovers and a wonderful sense of adventure A really enjoyable read X thanks.

  2. Great read from beginning to end Yes, the end was rather abrupt, but after asking myself what was missing I had to say, nothing really Therefore 5 stars

  3. The two men in this story are real people, unlike a lot of the fluffy characters in some romances who are too perfect to be believable Both of them are recent widowers, and both of them are grieving their losses Jon s a little manic, Darrell s a little depressed, and they set off to Machu Picchu to try to work through their losses together If you re looking for romance with older men who are real people, this book s for you.

  4. What a lovely story The symbolism works beautifully, and the hike is very well told, but my favourite moment is actually with Charles one of the secondary characters Trevor s response to Charles question What did you say I was, Trev.It makes a very welcome change to read about two older people discovering each other. And that book Dare and Jon are writing That would be a great second book Even though I really shouldn t feed those plot bunnies Thank you to the author and the DRitC team for this fr [...]

  5. I enjoyed this book and I don t often like short stories I loved the detail of their preparation and their individual reactions Their understanding and respect of each other was well written, and the fact that there was no attempt to make them perfect constructs, as so many stories do Their age added a beautiful element to the story, as did their previous relationships All in all, well done

  6. As I see stairs around the city, I think of the training done before their trip to Machu Piccu.

  7. This was about two long time friends who had both recently lost their spouses For something to do, they decide to go on a hike in South America The story covers their preparations and the trip It then ends abruptly I did not like either character They were both older men, and one complained constantly The story was ok but did not leave me eager to continue I was glad to be rid of them.
