  1. The first half of the book had rogue revisiting her childhood home and helping a mutant dream It was really quite dumb and retconned her childhood into this asinine story of her parents living on a commune and trying to get to a part of the dream world called the Far Banks It was quite terrible but with good art by Cliff Richards. The 2nd story had Rogue headed to Japan to help out Sunfire taking on Lady Deathstroke and Silver Samurai It had ramifications for both Sunfire and Rogue for years to c [...]

  2. I preferred the first part of the book I won t lie, I preferred that part because it had Gambit in it p I didn t know much about Rogue s dark past, so it was nice learning about it Now I see why Remy loves her so much Their love story is just so beautiful and frustrating and argh cries a river cause Remy can t touch Anna Oh and loved the graphics, as always.

  3. If you re a fan of Rogue from the X Men, this graphic novel collects her solo comics Plenty of insight into her history, and includes the complete storyline in Japan that shaped her future.

  4. I have rarely seen so much absorbing in the X Men as I did in episode 1 here the purported wish of Rogue s to avoid using her main power seems to go out of the window here The first story is quite pedestrian until some nifty shifts around episode 4, when it goes off piste and improves Ditto for the structure of the second story, although this one works a little less well. For those who love Rogue, it may just be true that she functions better in a team than on her own.

  6. The first half I would ve given 5 stars, but the second half was like 2, so maybe a 3.5 overall I super mega enjoyed volume one, and the romance between Rogue and Gambit was what I had hoped would be in X Men Gambit and Rogue which fell a little short for me If you re a fan of Rogue and or Gambit, or even X Men in general, this is still definitely worth a read

  7. Overall, it s a pretty solid read, but 1 6 and 7 12 are distinctly different in how they go about telling a story that delves into Rogue s past 1 6 ended up being the stronger story and the one I liked which surprised me, since I bought this because of the Sunfire developments but that s not to say 7 12 isn t entertaining, too, but the second half of the book has plot holes and character motivations that are forced and a bit ridiculous.

  8. It was interesting to read about one of my favorite X Men The two series were both very unique and helped readers to understand Rogue better and learn about how she becomes who she is I think I liked the first series a little better than the second one but they were both interesting reads and kept you wondering what would happen next.

  9. Growing up with X Men, mostly from the cartoon and movies, Rogue was one of my favorites next to Night crawler, Gambit, etc, from her cool costume designs and being the most interesting, this sounded like my kind of read And it was interesting, with the different story arcs and art styles Pretty good read.

  10. Rogue has always been a favorite character I enjoyed the story arc and learning about her past and how it affects her Wasn t a big fan of the art of the second story arc, but still handled well.

  11. Solid collection with two stories that fill in some gaps about Rogue s past Good mix of character building and action.

  12. Love rogue as a character, this graphic novel has good art work ok writing but in the long run it fell flat Rogue is a great character but not a strong enough character to hold a series on her own.
