  1. Have you ever looked at the X Men and wished you were reading a book of worse, derivative X characters in even convoluted storylines instead Well good news because Marvel has the group for you the Inhumans They fell to Earth they changed the world Now, Black Bolt and the Inhumans get UNCANNY that s one of the dumbest taglines I ve ever read They fell to Earth what And what does it mean that the Inhumans get uncanny Know what other series has the Uncanny label X Men Know which title Marvel are t [...]

  2. When Thanos arrived on Attilan and threatened the Inhumans, Black Bolt sent everyone away through Eldrac the door This resulted in many Inhumans scattering throughout the world Since that day no one knew what happened to Ahura, heir to the throne of Attilan, the son of Black Bolt and Medusa. It seems one person knew where Ahura was.Black Bolt sent Ahura into the past with Kang the Conquerer to protect him from Thanos and the incursions.Black Bolt also brought terrigen mist in order to allow Ahura [...]

  3. Ugh I am SO sick of time travel stories in Marvel books It s like they re incapable of plotting a story unless time travel or parallel universes are somehow involved I used to LOVE time travel stories I used to find the idea of parallel universes FASCINATING After almost a decade of nothing but, though, I can honestly say that if I read another one anytime soon I am going to scream. This book, in case you haven t already guessed, is just another tedious time travel story If I was rating this on t [...]

  4. Also available on the WondrousBooks blog.Because of the last two seasons of Marvel s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D I was very excited to start this Even though I didn t know what to expect But despite that, I was not impressed Ha ha.The problem was I didn t feel anything toward these specific characters Especially the leaders The royal family, being the center of the volume, they should have been amazing characters, charming and able to draw the attention To me, they seemed generic, remote I felt I shou [...]

  5. Well I ll be damned An Inhumans book I actually liked Should ve guessed it with Charles Soule Guy just puts out entertaining books.

  6. Finally Been waiting since INHUMANITY for a decent Inhumans book Been cranking them out But it s sure has taken a while Nearly 2 years I guess This one finally worked for me The McNivin art helped Plus this book shows a bit of the traditional Inhumans cast Black Bolt and Medusa finally in the same room together They need to get back together It s kind of creepy Torch is dating Medusa He was going to marry her sister for crying out loud Always thought Johnny and Crystal belonged together.

  7. Pretty good It picks up where the book left off before Secret Wars, essentially Except that it had been so long since anyone had mentioned Ahura, Black Bolt and Medusa s son, that I had sort of totally forgotten that he existed Oops And I kind of got the impression that Soule sort of had, too Yes, his absence to this point is explained perfectly well, it s just that I kind of feel like should have been made of his absence in the previous volumes of Inhuman Ah well The storyline revolving around [...]

  8. I generally like Charles Soule s stuff, but I felt this volume trended much toward Wolverines than She Hulk too many characters I didn t care about, too many plot contrivances time travel explains everything always and despite the presence of Beast none of it felt terribly Uncanny One to skip.

  9. I went into this with fairly low expectations and ended up liking it to some degree I didn t read all of Inhumanity which sets up just what happens to the Inhumans after Black Bolt sets of the Terrigen Bomb All I knew was the Medusa had taken over leadership and gathered a new team of Inhumans to help recover any NuHumans and also to be seen as heroes I also know Karnakwas no longer around. This volume has Black Bolt returning, apparently on the outs with Medusa, to tell her he needs help in resc [...]

  10. One might almost think Marvel had me in mind with this one The Uncanny Inhumans, the Human Torch and Kang the Conqueror I mean what s not to love I ve been a fanning a flame for the Human Torch since I was a little kid and discovered Kirby Lee s Fantastic Four which, of course, also led to my infatuation with the Inhumans tucked away in their hidden refuge high in the Himalayan mountains And it was the crossover wedding event between Crystal Quicksilver that got me really started on the Avengers [...]

  11. I have to give this 5 stars because I feel as if the angels editors at Marvel have heard my prayers read my reviews and finally listened to my urgent request that Mr Soule deserves some possibly please forgive me um, other artists You know what I mean For his work in the Inhuman world.Steve McNiven is an illustrator Master, in my opinion Thus, this story came to life in my imagination in a much richer way than Soule s earlier Inhuman books.Pleases keep this up

  12. Don t know what to think of Charles Soule The guy s conscientiously destroying my favorite character namely Daredevil and writes a decent if a litlle bit convoluted Inhuman story, characters I honestly don t care much for to begin with.Convoluted indeed That s usually what happens when time travel s involved Actually the plot is well handled time travel is murder to deal with , the only question being ok, but why Why did Kang do what he did Why did Black Bolt dealt with his son this way What was [...]

  13. The Uncanny Inhumans continues Marvel s franchise building effort. The Uncanny Inhumans picks up where Inhuman left off, pre Secret Wars Black Bolt and Medusa remain estranged, but are forced to work together to save their son, Ahura, from time traveling villain Kang After Black Bolt, Triton and Reader make a failed attempt to liberate Ahura, Kang uses the boy whose power finally emerges to wipe out the Inhumans via strategically placed attacks in various time periods The trio then teams with Med [...]

  14. Soule s Inhuman was a pretty great political drama that really diverged from superhero norms, creating a dense and mysterious tapestry Thus, it s sort of disappointing to find this story so mundane Oh, it s a fine superhero story the Inhumans vs Kang, that s epic And, it s even a good Kang story with some nice timey wimeyness Time is used both as a weapon and as a solution But it s also a shallow story We ve got a single plot thread and it involves a lot of people hitting each other Though this [...]

  15. Wasn t sure about this title, but I m glad I read it Charles Soule usually always does great work, and it takes a well written plot whenever you deal with time travel Beware This Volume s villain is Kang, Marvel s premiere time travelling villain I caution you read this book in one sitting It will be much easier to understand and keep straight SPOILERSBlack Bolt made a deal with Kang to keep his son safe For some reason, I think because of the events of Infinity and Inhumanity he has been remove [...]

  16. Wooooooow You had my curiosity, but now you have my attention I found this a little difficult to delve into I apparently need to have read Inhuman which sets it up The NuHumans, New Attilan, all was a bit lost on me at first Once Kang got warmed up though, I was hooked I ve seen time travel come up in Avengers, Dark Avengers, the Fantastic Four I agree that Marvel overdo it, but I found this one of the satisfying uses of it I REALLY needed to know what happened with Ahura The artwork was also g [...]

  17. This is the definition of fine Of okay Steve McNiven s art is lovely and serviceable but it lacks the power and drama he s displayed elsewhere Likewise, writer Charles Soule fails here to show the verve and wit that are so abundant in many of his other titles There s nothing bad or wrong within these pages but there s little to get excited about, either Nothing feels consequential I know that two stars feels like an exceptionally low rating but, according to own rating system, those two stars li [...]

  18. I didn t think I d be one of those people tired of time travel but like this was really convoluted time travel That seems to follow Kang the Conqueror around though He s definitely a character I could do without reading in any iteration for a while It was too much.I m not sure what parts of the timeline were fixed by the end of this or who even still exist but I liked some of the Nuhumans we saw in the beginning I still love following Medusa She s great Black Bolt s power has always intrigued me [...]

  19. This is my first real exposure to The Inhumans and I m still not sure what exactly is the difference between an inhuman and a mutant.Black Bolt is an inhuman I can t take seriously because it appears he has a teeny tiny football goalpost coming out of his forehead His ex wife is Queen Medusa, and I sure would hate to see her shampoo and conditioner bill They have a son together named Ahura. No, Ahura.Anyway, for reasons I still don t understand, Black Bolt gives his child over into the keeping of [...]

  20. Most of this is new to me Historically haven t paid any attention to the inhumans in the Marvel universe but my curiosity was peaked by reading Ms Marvel So most of the characters are new to me I kind of enjoyed it Good art, certainly and liked seeing McCoy and to a lesser extent Johnny Storm But it didn t draw me in I don t feel any particular desire to keep following In particular, Medusa is utterly uninteresting to me Black bolt is kind of intriguing, but mostly because I don t entirely get h [...]

  21. Soule s been allowed a lot of creative and editorial freedom when it comes to reorganizing the Inhumans and making them relevant to the Marvel Universe again When I was a kid, the Inhumans were basically secondary characters from FF who occasionally appeared in other stuff Over the past several years, they ve been working up to this not just Medusa as a part of A Force, or Black Bolt on the Illuminati council, but a fully rounded and developed picture of the Inhumans as a group, the smaller rela [...]

  22. I like the concepts around the Inhumans a lot, and some of their stories are quite fascinating, but there is something quite as interesting in execution with this title The fractured Inhuman Royal Family after the events of Secret Wars and Death of X are interesting, the character development here is good, but Kang s power feels too silver age and one feels like Marvel is trying to make the Inhumans fill the role of mutants in their expansion in the general society The Time Dynamics feel a littl [...]

  23. This is the first Inhuman material I have read in a while, so I don t know the backstory, but this volume is great regardless I am familiar with Kang the Conqueror he has always been one of my favorite villains and it s great to see him featured in this story Charles Soule has written a great story here and Steve McNiven and Jay Leisten have provided some excellent art I am looking forward to volumes of this series.

  24. This is my first Inhumans graphic novel I wanted to read one since the TV series just started and to see if I would be interested in this part of the Marvel universe that I have not explored The storyline dealt with Black Bolt and Medusa trying to get back their son, Ahura, from Kang the Conqueror Since I was not familiar with the characters other than Johnny Storm I am curious to know some of the other characters back stories, and I ll probably keep reading

  25. Yeah, I loved all of this.1 Though he doesn t have a BIG role, Soule writes Beast very well better than he s been written in a long time.2 Medusa is awesome and is dating a younger man that happens to be Johnny Storm.3 Great Kang story that actually shows how much a threat he is.4 Steve McNiven s art is great, and draws one hell of a Beast.5 Inking was great too.

  26. More Marvel stories perhaps Inhumans will be as interesting as superheroes Some of the tension between them seems artificial on some level though.

  27. ComiXology Unlimited This seemed to pick up where the previous run had left off, but I liked the story I ll read the next collected volume, but probably not much of this series.

  28. Needed a little light reading Enjoyed it, but felt the artwork was leagues better than the writing Medusa getting with Johnny Storm, what

  29. Read as individual issues on Marvel Unlimited.Generally fantastic than I like my comics especially with the time travel , but an enjoyable first taste of the Inhumans for me.
