  1. Starts off really strong In fact, the first 6 issues might have been the best 6 issues in Cap s history The first issue where Cap deals with the aftermath of 9 11 is heart wrenching The next story arc, Cap deals with terrorists on U.S soil He discovers a larger conspiracy that never gets resolved satisfactorily Unfortunately, at this point something happened and the creative team of John Ney Rieber and John Cassaday left the book Chuck Austin comes in and pretty much ruins everything Rieber was [...]

  2. A reprint from books written soon after 9 11 And yet these read as absolutely current and in a scary manner In general I m not a big fan of Captain America or Steve Rogers He s too much of a boy scout, everything is cut and dry But in this volume it works I doubt that if I had read this back in 2002 I would have appreciated it as well But at this point it is pretty clear that the US government not being the good guy in some manner is plausible The art adds a lot to the story as well especially i [...]

  3. The art by Cassaday is good in some places, but for me this book just falls flat I didn t much care about the story, or the art overall Cassaday is a really good artist, but I mostly think if him as being a Cover artist I just don t think he is able to show movement from panel to panel Cap is a fighter and when I read hos adventures I want to get a sense of that movement, of him fighting a room full of people by being this unstoppable force With Cassaday it all seems like Posters Can t say I car [...]

  4. One of the few Marvel comics I didn t like I feel like they re trying to give a new twist to old original characters but it just isn t working The comic pretty much wrecked my image of Captain America, and he doesn t even seem like the Living Legend all Cap fans know and love Marvel can do way better than this, for sure

  5. I liked the first half of this, but when it started delving into clones and such I just wanted it to end So I did.

  7. This started off really well Coherent story Awesome art A heart wrenching tale of when Americas most patriotic soldier is not around at the 9 11 bombing The guilt he feels is palpable. Then we get into his moral code of honor and his code against killing Then it starts getting weird Clones Magical native Americans Hallucinogenic bitters and a Lemurian plot to trick him into killing someone Did I mention clones Not to mention plot hole would could toss Jupiter through And I m not a huge fan of Jae [...]

  8. Captain America enters the war on terrorismWhat happens when the embodiment of Americaencounters the fuzzy grey world of modern warfare Captain America shinesa bright light on the unpleasantries that America has made itself comfortable with in the post 9 11 world
