  1. 3.5 fun to read starsA really well written sweet and tender romance that has a Christian based theme to it As always, I m an easy mark for a sports themed romance and Nick Coulter certainly fit the mold sending me to the one click button. When a recently retired NFL quarterback and recently converted playboy meets his new neighbor and her 4 year old son, he knows he is looking at his future There are some rough times on the road to happily ever after but the trip is really an enjoyable reading ex [...]

  2. Sweet PG type romanceI had no idea this was a Christian Romance when I began reading it It was still cute The plot and characters were a bit far fethced and unrealistic for my preference though If you are looking for a light, almost innocent type simple romance, with a HEA this one will do the trick It did have some clich moments, and felt overly long at times, but for the most part, I enjoyed it.

  3. Although the description indicates otherwise this is another case of two impossibly beautiful handsome people falling in love at first sight Here the obstacles holding them back from instant marriage are pretty much all on her side as she was married before to a man also impossibly handsome who turned out to be emotionally abusive, a philanderer, and probably a psychopath, so she is understandably shy of forming another attachment even if she does feel an instant connection The main plot is deci [...]

  4. I ended up really liking this one I thought the start was fun, Ellie is pretty skeptical when it comes to guys and is surprised when a very famous football player moves in across the street Nick was a great guy and I loved that he was totally drawn to Ellie right from the start and didn t play games As usual I thought the love yous were exchanged a bit early, but I was able to set that aside and just enjoy the story It helped that they were such a cute couple Overall, it was a cute story I liked [...]

  5. So, here s the deal I liked this book I enjoyed reading it BUT, I really wanted depth for the MC Look, I know being a mom is hard work, and being a stay at home mom is tough I have 3 kids all under 4 I really would have liked to see Ellie as a something other than just a mom She was very one dimensional to me I really questioned why Nick would like her It seemed very, very shallow The only thing ever really said about her was that she was pretty, she had pretty hair I wanted I have never known [...]

  6. Ellie falls for her famous football star neighbor, Nick I liked how Nick likes Ellie right away and changes his game plan to win her I liked Ellie She s beautiful without knowing it, thinking Nick is looking at her mismatched clothes instead of admiring her She s fiercely loyal to her young son from her very short marriage Her heart is broken and she struggles with trusting I just wanted Ellie to have a stronger sense of her personal identity, it seems to get swallowed up in her role as mother S [...]

  7. This was a fun contemporary romance It sure does hold your interest throughout the book A fun story about a football player falling in love with his next door neighbor I had some issues with the leading lady, I really wanted her to gain a backbone Yes, there is a place for forgiveness and being kind but as a Christian woman sitting there letting my X husband verbally abuse me is not loving of the self and not ok I wish she would have realized her value as a daughter of God and not had to have a [...]

  8. This was a great story of love, forgiveness, damage inflicted by spoken words, jealousy, and the importance of family There were a few religious comments but nothing overly preachy It was a delightfully heartwarming story Good job.

  9. Now one of my favorite books Fell in love with the characters from page one and had to force myself to put it down at 5 am so I could get SOME sleep before my daughter got up the next morning

  10. This was a sweet and clean read What I liked 1 The Christian message As a Christian, I like finding a good book that doesn t thump the Bible at you The message was incorporated in a gentle manner that fit in with the rest plot Others might have found this book preachy, but compared to other Christian book I ve read, it s pretty laid back in its message 2 In the same vein as no 1, how clean this book was, both in content and language 3 The H He was a real guy He made mistakes, realized them for w [...]

  11. I really enjoyed this book The writer is a Christian and writes with religion in mind She has a woman who has a little boy from a previous marriage and a former football player meet and everything that happens between them as they fall in love I have read a few other books by her and have enjoyed her work.

  12. Cute and easy read I liked the supporting cast as much as the main characters. The only thing I didn t like was that the main character is drop dead gorgeous but doesn t believe she is pretty It makes her totally up relatable give her some flaws or some confidence about her looks.

  13. 79 100It was nice and sweet, but I felt like they were really trying to shout out that this is a Christian book More so than in Under a Georgia Moon, which was also written by this author The story seemed like something I had already read.

  14. A really nice clean romance Nick and Ellie are an engaging couple, and the plot and writing are fast paced There are places the plot seems thin, but this is still an enjoyable read with a nice thread of faith running through it.

  15. Excellent read A totally satisfying love story Refreshing to read about such intense and committed love not only between the main characters, but also between the supporting characters This story makes one believe in fairytales and that love can triumph over trials.Very satisfying read.

  16. Synopsis Ellie Garrett never planned on being a divorced, single mother she also never planned to get married again Ever Her ordinary life changes when the house across the street is sold The new owner is Nick Coulter quarterback and MVP for the Sacramento Defenders Oh yeah, he s also one of People magazine s top 100 most beautiful people and America s most eligible bachelor So why would she pick him to have her first crush on since her divorce Recently retired from the NFL, Nick is than ready [...]

  17. When I read this it was a Sunday afternoon and I curled up with a package of Reese s Pieces and Fair Catch, hoping that it would be good That was at 2 56 pm I seriously could not put down this book I have to confess I stayed up until 2 am reading it It is a rare book that keeps me awake because I just HAVE to know the ending I LOVED IT My exact words at the time of the reading, Bahahahahahaha I love it The Princess Bride So proud of the author for putting that in there next thought I put down Ah [...]

  18. A few years ago I saw this book on and read the first couple chapters given as an excerpt I was intrigued and thought, What the heck It could be cute So I ve been looking for an opportunity to read it as well as Cindy Roland Anderson s other book Discovering Sophie I finally got the opportunity and was surprised to see how long it was The plot described didn t seem to call for such length It didn t take long for me to realize it was not worth finishing I pushed myself to finish it much further [...]

  19. 4 StarsIf you are looking for a sweetly romantic story, that will bring a grin to your face and throw in a few chuckles, then this is it What a fun read I enjoyed the romance and the characters It was just what I was looking for something light, funny and steaming with clean ROMANCE Is it filled with deep thought provoking subject matter or one that will leave you thinking about it for days But that isn t the point of this novel So for those of you looking for something a little on the heavier s [...]

  20. Cindy Roland Anderson s Fair Catch was a delightful novel, I enjoyed following Ellie and Nick s sweet love story The characters were captivating and the storyline kept me engaged to the very end In fact, I wish the Epilogue was longer I appreciated the importance of religion for the main characters and the lesson about forgiveness It s always good to have a reminderough I really disliked Thomas Yes, forgiveness is hard for most people and trust can be hard to give I ve also read Cindy s novel, D [...]

  21. Single mom, Ellie, lives in her parent s quiet Colorado neighborhood while they are in England on a sabbatical But when retired quarterback, Nick Coulter, moves in across the street, her life changes in an instant She s vowed to never trust a man again, and especially one like Nick who is in the media so much, always with beautiful girls draped all over him She doesn t want a repeat of her first womanizing husband but as she gets to know Nick, will she be able to put aside her fears and learn to [...]

  22. This was a clean, cheesy romance I had a hard time with the characters especially the main character She was so dependent on others, she s a single mom, with no job, she lives in her parents home, her neighbor is always free to babysit for her and cook for her As for her love interest, he was quite unrealistic and a bit dramatic for my taste i.e there was a line in the book that he said he would have to sell his house when he thought she was married I couldn t figure out what the attraction was [...]

  23. I love sports romances, especially when the players are football players So I was truly drawn to this book.It started out okay, I was going along with it Introductions and everything makes us all blush and swoon But after the introduction part, it got weird for me I mean, seriously, not long after that, they kind of get together, a few dates, and then they are in love I m sorry, I felt like I was missing something I did go back to and fro to see if I missed a chapter or two, but no It was just t [...]

  24. A 4 star rating from me is pretty much a 5 Doesn t make much sense, huh Typically I only rate books a 5 if I liked it well enough to read a second time and there have only been a few of those. This is a very fun, entertaining, well written story I didn t want to put it down It moved along well with really no lulls in the storyline The main characters are fun and Cindy makes you feel like you really know them.Ellie and Nick are destined to be together, but with the outside forces battling them, wi [...]

  25. It was an easy read, but it just didn t give enough detail for me Things happened behind the scenes The time jumped too quickly for me and we read a lot of the things happening in summaries of the characters thoughts and not much happened that the readers were allowed to see Poor Ellie and her nervous stomach made me want to hug herd feed her Lol I didn t care for Thomas and knew from the beginning he was up to no good Though, it seemed a little predictable, it was a fun read I like books howeve [...]

  26. Cindy s a natural She has a great sense of humor and a darling, sweet take on romance I m sick of the smutty stuff and avoid it I love a good romance with a good plot, and I really like a well written book She kept me reading, even when I should have been doing other things or sleeping, and she made me smile, she made me sad, and she made me wish I could meet that hunk football player You can t go wrong here, so grab a copy, get that cup of hot chocolate and a cozy chair by the fire and enjoy.

  27. This was a good book It was nice and clean which was nice I usually stay away from romance books because of sexual content so this was a pleasure to read I liked the bit of suspense towards the end of the book when I thought the conflict was over It kept me engaged and interested I liked that the story didn t end where a lot of other stories would have but that it continued on and provided closure I loved the happy ending I love happy endings and when good guys win so this book was perfect for m [...]
